Patriot Act Model

EXPLANATION

The Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act of 2001, known as USA PATRIOT Act or simply the 'Patriot Act', was signed into law by President George W. Bush in 2001.

Originally passed after the September 11, 2001 attacks, the Act dramatically expanded the authority of American law enforcement for the stated purpose of fighting terrorism in the United States and abroad. Federal courts declared some sections unconstitutional because they interfere with civil liberties.

A lot of people don't like this law, and call it unconstitutional.

Other people do like this law, becaus they feel that it kicks ass and takes names!*

* Seriously, it takes a LOT of names. Mostly due to the wiretaps and previously-illegal phone call scanning.

This is the shirt you should wear whenever you want to feel like a patriot.

Or at least act like a patriot.

It's a type of patriot act, I suppose.
